In Umbria, land of woods, olive groves and vineyards, autumn is magic. Wine is fermenting in vats and its smell is unmistakable. Numerous and rare species of mushrooms can be found in wooden areas, excellent chestnuts are picked in chestnut woods while extra virgin olive oil, the bright and palatable liquid gold, comes out from olive presses. An autumn walk in a bright day through the woods, the vineyards and the olive groves, among thick scents tasting of earth and wood, is a peaceful and thrilling experience to be lived.
In November visitors can take part in excursions to the hills around the lake to visit wineries and olive presses and sample their products.
Hotels, agriturismos, residences, camp-sites, holiday villages and hostels provide very favourable conditions to participants.
Meeting time is at 8:00 am and departure at 9:00. The walks last about 4 hours and towards the end of each walk there will be a freshly-pressed olive oil sampling at a local olive press.
