If you opt for an outdoor vacation, such as at a campsite or pet-friendly farmhouse in Umbria, your dog will be able to roam freely in specially designated areas — but always remember to bring a waste bag with you.
In common areas like the reception or dining areas, keep your dog on a leash at all times.
If you'd like to visit the Trasimeno Islands, you can bring your dog on the ferry as long as it wears a muzzle and stays close to you. If your dog is small enough, you can carry it in your arms. Otherwise, a small additional fee may apply.
Small and medium-sized dogs are allowed on public pet-friendly beaches in Umbria, as long as they stay close to their owners and, if needed or requested, wear a muzzle. They can also swim — but only in designated areas.
For a fully pet-friendly stay, bring your dog with you to the restaurant. On summer evenings, while you enjoy a traditional dinner at one of the Trasimeno Sapori network’s restaurants, your dog can enjoy a bowl of meat served right next to your table. After dinner, you can attend events together on Lake Trasimeno: concerts, shows, cultural evenings.
