It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Europe—an artificial (created by the Romans in 271 BCE! ) cascade fed by the Velino River, which, after a journey of about 90 kilometers, plunges into the Nera River. A truly breathtaking sight not to be missed! The water is released at scheduled times, allowing you to witness the spectacle—from right inside the falls! Hike the trails leading upwards and admire the waterfall from a perspective you never imagined.
