With a surface area of 128 km², Lake Trasimeno is the fourth largest lake in Italy and the largest in central Italy. The Trasimeno tourist area comprises eight municipalities, four of which are hilltop towns (Città della Pieve, Paciano, Panicale, and Piegaro) and four lakeshore villages (Castiglione del Lago, Magione, Passignano sul Trasimeno, and Tuoro sul Trasimeno).

At Città della Pieve, you'll find the Adoration of the Magi at the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi, the Baptism of Christ and the Madonna in Glory with Saints Gervasius and Protasius in the Cathedral, and the Deposition from the Cross in the Civic Diocesan Museum of Santa Maria dei Servi. In Panicale, the fresco of the Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian is housed in the Church of San Sebastiano.
