The Maggio dei libri (or Books of May) is a national event organised by the Italian Ministry of Culture’s Centro per il Libro e Lettura, in collaboration with the Conferenza delle Regioni e delle Province Autonome, l'Unione delle Province d'Italia and the Associazione Nazionale Comuni Italiani to promote the reading of books and underscore their value as invaluable factors in personal, cultural and civic growth.
Maggio dei libri begins every year on April 23, World Book and Copyright Day, and ends on May 31st.
Lots of activities are planned around Lake Trasimeno and Umbria: book presentations and “meet the author” events, debates, poetic nature walks, readings and fun workshops for kids.
