Torre dei Lambardi. Photography exhibit by Alessandra Baldoni - "THE FUTURE ISN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE" – The title takes its name from a renowned book of poetry by Marc Strand and is a journey made up of metaphors and suggestions that tell of the cracks and fragility of our times.
The journey is as enthralling as it is enigmatic and follows the upward thrust of the tower, ascending as existential revelations and restlessness appear. It speaks of the utter beauty of life, notwithstanding pain. They are images that come together as a puzzle and urge the observer to look deeper inside him/herself.
The tower symbolises a closed place, isolated, as in “closing yourself in an ivory tower,” but also stands for a place that provides safety, a place from which to spot and keep watch on the enemy.
It is this two sided coin, a place to hide but also a high place from which to observe the poetic nature of the show which, as we said, visually climbs upwards from floor to floor. Alongside the photographs there are also small touches that give the experience a rhythm, like stars that guide you in the night.
The show is open from Thursdays through Sundays from 10am to 1pm, and from 3pm to 6pm. Private showings on request.
