The International Lace and Embroidery Fair showcases an art form traditionally practiced by women—passed down through generations and telling the story of our local area. From the Irish lace (or pizzo d’isola) typical of Isola Maggiore, to embroidery on tulle—better known as Ars Panicalensis—these are truly unique examples of refined and elegant artistry.
The main appointments of the 2026 edition:
Friday, 11 September – Opening ceremony and the Pax et Bonum exhibition, in homage to Saint Francis on the 800th anniversary of his death.
Saturday, 12 September – Modella per una Notte (Model for a Night), a fashion show featuring hats and other creations inspired by lace, embroidery, and other artistic techniques.
Sunday, 13 September – The theatrical performance La Sora Anita and the highly anticipated Concerto di Fuselli (Bobbins Concert)—a musical and cultural event combining live music with the rhythm and rhythmic clacking of the wooden bobbins used by lacemakers on their pillows.
